Lake Lawn Resort Delavan Lake WI

The water tower at Lake Lawn Lodge in Delavan Wisconsin may soon be serving guests.  A local group of investors have made a cash offer, and ready to close in 30 days.  This is great news to the Delavan Area community.   We hope to know by Friday if the offer is accepted.    Lake Lawn has been a major employer in the area, as well as a popular vacation destination.    Looking like a ghost town, with metal cattle gates across the entrance Lake Lawn will hopefully soon have the bustle of employees and guests once again.    Lake Lawn on the beautiful shores of Delavan Lake, anxiously awaits a new owner!

Delavan WI Weather

If you like the four seasons,  then Delavan WI weather is for you.   Each season offers a variety of activities in the Walworth County Area.   As each season passes, we eagerly anticipate each new season.  The weather in Delavan can range from 100 plus in the summer to 15 below zero in the winter.  My favorite season is summer and the hotter the better.  Summer in the lakes area is all about the water sports.  My "therapy time"  is spending time on our wave runner.   We also like to spend time with friends and family on our boat on Lake Geneva.   A year round destination there is something for everyone in Delavan Wisconsin.

Delavan Lake Area Heat Wave

Wow ! After the fridged cold and the blizzard of 2011..... 30 degrees feels like a heat wave.  It is a welcome break to most of us!   It is predicted that we could actually hit 50 degrees plus by Thursday!!  Perfect for a cookout!!    Most of the ice fishermen have removed their ice fishing hut.  The weather was perfect for the recent Winterfest in Lake Geneva.   Hurry Spring !

Winter in Walworth County and Delavan Lake Area !

Walworth County, and especially the Delavan Lake area, has some wonderful winter activities!    There are two ski hills in Walworth County, Alpine Valley and  Grand Geneva.   The combination of extreme cold and natural snow has made conditions excellent for skiing and snowmobiling.   Delavan Lake hosts some of the best ice fishing in the area.   As a matter of fact,  you might wonder if the fishermen were fishing or watching the Packer / Bear game last weekend.   Of course the answer is BOTH,  the ice fishing shanty features heat, easy chairs, grill or cook stove and a television.     For those of us that prefer indoor activities, there is the indoor water park at Timber Ridge,  the Dancing Horses Show and Animal Gardens.    Come and enjoy all Delavan WI has to offer!

Cold Cold Cold, Delavan Lake

Delavan Lake is frozen! Wow !   Is it really only 5 degrees?   And dropping.    What is there to do when it is this cold in Walworth County?   Timber Ridge in Lake Geneva has an indoor waterpark,  a great place to escape the cold.   There are several great ski hills including Alpine Valley,  and Grand Geneva.   Of course snowmobiling and ice fishing are poplar as well.   Many of the local hotels offer open swimming, and there is also a cooking school in Lake Geneva.   There are several area local winter events to attend throughout the winter.  Come to Walworth County and experience the snow, and the beautiful lakes area.  

Winter ups and downs in Delavan WI

Delavan  Wisconsin Winters,  we never know what to expect!   A week ago we had a nice covering of snow on the ground in the Walworth County area up to a foot in areas.   Great for snowmobiling and downhill skiing.   Delavan and Lake Geneva lakes still have signs of open water, and now the snow has all melted with the recent rain.  Delavan and Elkhorn had a beautiful white Christmas.   2011 we hope to see Real Estate prices stabilize along with interest rates!   It's a great time to buy real estate!!
